Petrochemical Storage
Oil and gas storage tank facilities in Tsing Yi require regular detailed inspection to ensure integrity and safety. These tanks are large steel structures, 20 metres tall, and up to 30 metres in diameter. They have to be emptied out on a regular basis, cleaned, and the all the steel elements inspected and tested to ensure no defects or distortion to the overall structure.
Inspecting the inside ceilings of these tanks used to be a long, expensive and hazardous process involving erecting scaffolding and manned inspection at height. Inspecting the roof of one tank would take up to 3 months. With the Elios 3, we’re able to complete one entire tank inspection in just one day.
