Reach M2/M+ GNSS Modules for UAVs
The Reach GNSS modules for UAVs deliver centimetre-level accuracy in RTK and PPK, giving you precise aerial mapping with less Ground Control Points (GCPs) — an important consideration in some of Hong Kong’s rougher terrain.
Camera synchronisation is important: when a drone is flying at 20 m/s and GPS works at only 5 Hz, you’ll have position readings only every 4m or so — this is not enough for precise georeferencing. In addition, theres always a delay between the trigger and the actual moment the photo is taken.
The Reach M2/M+ Modules solve this problem by connecting directly to the camera hot shoe, ensuring precise synchronisation with the shutter. The time and coordinates of each photo are logged in less than a microsecond. You can further eliminate the need for GCPs, or use GCPs just to check your accuracy.
The Reach M2 Module is designed to work with the Reach RS2 base station receiver. It provides robust performance and quick initialisation, allowing work on long baselines, with RTK up to 60km and PPK up to 100km. The M2 has multi-band frequencies, and a RINEX logging update rate up to 20Hz.
The Reach M+ Module is designed to work with the Reach RS+ base station receiver. The M+ is an optimal choice for shorter baselines, with RTK up to 10km and PPK up to 20km. This is a single-band module with a RINEX logging update rate up to 14Hz.
