The Elios 3 represents the next generation in remote confined space inspection drones. Elios 3 retains the same robust cage form factor of Elios 2 (including the full 4K video camera with thermal imager, distance lock, adjustable lighting, and on-the-fly measurements). This optional version is specially designed for optimised and accurate 3D point cloud surveying.
Survey Grade SLAM LiDAR
This version of the Elios 3 comes with an upgraded LIDAR scanner, the Ouster OS0-128 Rev 7 which delivers highly detailed, centimetre-accurate scans inside hard-to-reach and hazardous areas. Together with the advanced LiDAR payload you get FARO Connect, a specialised point cloud processing software, along with comprehensive training, and a set of reflective targets.
This advanced LiDAR payload option targets professionals seeking survey-grade results in hard-to-reach, dangerous and inaccessible spaces. The enhanced features include volumetric measurements that are accurate to within 1% of terrestrial laser scans, distance measurements with centimetre precision, and more detailed point clouds with sharper definition. In addition, the Surveying Payload is optimised for linear and symmetrical environments, such as tunnels, wastewater pipes, culverts and sewers.
LiDAR Features
The enhanced LiDAR scanner offers the following features and benefits over the standard LIDAR package:

Point cloud accuracy in structured environments delivers drift as low as 0.1% – 0.3%. In symmetrical and linear environments, it is as low as 0.5% – 2% drift.

Clean, Geo-referenced Point Clouds
FARO Connect allows for true data alignment by combining multiple point clouds to produce one single scan. Alignment is done intuitively using reflective targets.
The software also includes cloud filtering to refine your 3D models, including outlier removal, surface noise reduction, and removal of unwanted points.
Plus, you can now perform geo-referencing automatically using reflective targets imported as part of the dataset into FARO Connect.
Elios 3 Survey Payload Packages
The Flyability Elios 3 Survey is sold as a complete package, including the drone itself, the controller and tablet, the software, batteries and everything you need to fly right out of the box.
There are three package options available: Elios 3 LIGHT SURVEY, Elios 3 PREMIUM SURVEY and Elios 3 ENTERPRISE SURVEY. The PREMIUM and ENTERPRISE Packages come with additional batteries and chargers, plus a 2-year warranty on the ENTERPRISE Package. The ENTERPRISE Package also includes the Range Extender.
Everything comes in custom-designed, industrial strength, wheeled hard case that is easy to transport and ensures you have everything on hand, ready to fly.

The Range Extender is an antenna booster that connects to the RC controller. A 20-metre cable connects the antenna booster to the controller. The booster can then be placed inside a chamber or room, or dropped down a shaft.
