3D Live Map: complete locational awareness

The on-board LiDAR constantly scans the surroundings to deliver a high-density point cloud map. This map is displayed in the Cockpit App in real time, giving you exceptional locational awareness. A real-time 3D view of the drone’s trajectory and environment provides crucial data. If visibility inside the environment is compromised (due to dust or moisture) you can continue to navigate your way safely.

1. Smart Return-to-Home

With Smart Return-to-Home, the drone autonomously returns to the take-off point, intelligently navigating by the shortest return path, and dynamically avoiding obstacles. This is the power of FlyAware™ and autonomy in action!

2. Resume Inspection

By using Smart Return-to-Home to return safely to the landing point, Elios 3 “remembers” the path. Insert a new battery, start up, and hit “Resume Inspection” — the drone automatically flies back to the last RTH point, ready to continue your mission. Simple, easy, safe… and efficient!

3. Autonomous Repeat Flights

Autonomous Repeat Flight gives you the ability to reload a previously flown manual mission into the drone, and with a single click, autonomously re-execute that mission, exactly how it was flown with the same lighting, camera angles and Point of Interest capture!

The drone precisely follows the original flight path, revisits the exact same points of interest, and captures data from identical positions and viewpoints on every flight — all completely automatically!

And in our Inspector 5 software, Points of Interest from multiple repeat flights can be compared easily side-by-side with just one click, making it easy to monitor degradation or corrosion over time. Standardise ongoing inspections of key assets over time. Critical infrastructure that needs to be inspected on a monthly or annual basis can now be done automatically.

Standard Battery

The flight-safe standard battery gives up to 9 minutes of flight time in most situations.

High-Capacity Battery

The High-Capacity battery delivers 50 percent more flight time (up to 13 minutes) over the standard battery.

Tether Power Unit

The Tether Power Unit gives you almost unlimited flight time by using ground power through a 50m kevlar-reinforced cable.

The Elios 3 tether unit delivers continuous power for long, stress-free operations. By connecting to a wall outlet, generator, or compatible portable power station, it converts 100–240 V AC into high-voltage DC, delivered to the drone through a 50 m (164 ft) Kevlar®-reinforced cable.

With steady power from the ground, pilots can eliminate mid-mission battery changes and stay focused on the inspection. The Tether Power Unit offers:

Unique Anti-Flip Swivel

Fly as freely as if untethered. The anti-flip swivel secures the cable while allowing it to move freely around the drone, eliminating disturbances from the tether. This ensures perfect stability, even during sharp manoeuvres or a cable snag.

The swivel rotates 360° around the drone, allowing the tether to attach from any direction. This rotation removes directional constraints, ensuring inspections are never limited by tether orientation.

Easy Tether-to-Battery Swap

Easily switch from tethered to untethered flight.

The air unit connects the cable to the drone and can be swapped with an Elios 3 battery in seconds. This lets pilots fly beyond the tether’s reach, ensuring complete data collection in all conditions.

Backup Battery

Land safely if there’s an unexpected power outage.

The tether ground power unit is equipped with a backup battery either Elios 3 standard or high-capacity battery that automatically supplies enough power for a safe, controlled landing during unexpected power loss.

Supercharged Data Quality

The fixed payload can be tilted remotely, giving you a fully unobstructed field of view 180° up and down.

Inside is a 4K camera, a thermal camera, and a distance sensor.

The lighting system uses industry-leading oblique and dust-proof lights, designed to spot pitting and cracks in surfaces.

The Flyability desktop software, Inspector 5, enables a seamless/continuous workflow. Imported flight data is organised by asset and can be instantly visualised in a 3D digital map of your asset—with no additional processing.

Precisely Analyse Defects

Scroll through video frames and Points of Interest (photos) to select the best view of a defect. Zoom in and adjust the lighting and contrast as needed. Then add measurements and annotations to the Point of Interest.
