Flyability Introduces the Flammable Gas Sensor
Flyability have introduced a flammable gas sensor for the Elios 3. The sensor is a safety tool that provides a real-time warning of combustible gasses when mounted on the Elios 3. This sensor was created in partnership with NevadaNano, a leader in advanced gas detection technology with 20 years of experience.
The flammable gas sensor attaches to the back of the Elios 3 (any version!), and can detect over 14 common combustible gasses with a resolution of 0.1% lower explosive limit (LEL). The sensor is designed to detect both the gas class it is exposed to, and the concentration in a confined space, giving greater awareness of the atmospheric condition.
The sensor is designed to be a safety marker, allowing pilots to determine if there is a dangerous gas present and react accordingly. This sensor thus complements existing safety measures related to flammable gasses. The live in-flight reading gives the pilot critical data for making an informed decision. It adds an important layer of safety but does not certify the drone as ATEX rated (no drone is currently ATEX rated).

Reliably Detect 14+ Flammable Gases, Including Hydrogen
The Elios 3 Gas Warning Sensor can detect and quantify over 14 of the most common combustible gases — including hydrogen — with a resolution of 0.1% LEL (Lower Explosive Limit), reporting both gas type and concentration. It can identify even the slightest changes in gas levels and provide early warnings, enhancing safety across a wide range of operational scenarios.

Note: the Flammable Gas Sensor is designed as an extra safeguard for detecting flammable gases. It is meant to complement, not replace, existing safety measures and protocols. The sensor itself does not reduce or eliminate the potential risks associated with operating the Elios 3 non-ATEX drone in flammable environments. In addition, the sensor does not currently support detection of hydrogen Sulphide (H2S), Oxygen (O2), or Carbon Monoxide (CO).
